Irish producer Glenn Keohane aka K-Series returns for his third outing on his own label NG415 following his well-received `Forget the Regret´ Ep which received widespread support from a wide cross section of techno and house djs such as Chris Liebing (CLR), Greg Dowling, (Fish Go Deep), Dimi Angelis (Smallville, Balans), and Truncate (Enemy). On the opening track `PM´ he returns to some of the deep jacking synth driven action that characterised the first release but this time with more of a dubbed out feel. Deep kick drums rumble underneath delayed percussion and synth stabs, with recurrent background cymbal flashes lending this track a subtle, building intensity. The second track `AM´ delves still deeper and darker. Heavy sub-bass and a jagged kick drum underlie a constant reverbed rhythm gives this track a hypnotic feel with the arrival of dubby synth stabs being complimented by darkly funky claps. The aptly titled `Warmth In Coldness´ melds a deceptively funky kick and sub-bass pattern with metallic, heavily reverbed drums, white noise washes, and a simple yet insistent hi-hat. This is REAL subterranean techno, deep yet intense, mechanical yet with an element of funk you can´t quite put your finger on, and a track that will work equally as well in festival arenas as it will in darkened warehouses and bunker sweatboxes."
